Its Finale Friday for the Bay Equipment Rentals Weekly Racing Series
(Halifax, NS – September 19, 2024) Race fans are in for a treat this weekend with a double header on deck at Scotia Speedworld. In addition to Saturday’s final Pro Stock Tour race at Scotia Speedworld this season - the TIRECRAFT 200, its also the final Friday night of racing for the Bay Equipment Rentals Weekly Racing Series. And if that weren’t enough, we are also making up two features Friday night for the Maritime Auto Glass Sportsman and the Bluenose Pools Bandoleros, which were postponed due to weather on September 6th. Grandstands open at 5:00pm, with racing underway at 7:00pm.
With only two full point nights to go in the 2024 season, including the extended distance Halifax 300 on Saturday, September 28th, the Bay Equipment Rentals Weekly Racing Series championship chases are ending quickly.
For the Bluenose Pools Bandoleros and Maritime Auto Glass Sportsman, this Friday night is pivotal in the championship chase. Both Bella Pashkoski (Bandolero – Beaver Bank) and Russell Smith Sr (Sportsman – Lakeside) have comfortable leads in their respective classes but comfortable and safe are two different things! Both will run double features this Friday, including the held over features from September 6th. The Maritime Auto Glass Sportsman will conclude the Superior Foundations Sportsman race from Lap 23 on Friday. Please note, this race has been shortened to 75-laps, meaning there will be 53 laps remaining when the field takes the green on Friday. Andrew Lively (Middle Sackville), who won his first Sportsman feature last week, is the current leader of the event.
The penultimate point races for the Strictly Hydraulics Legends, Toursec Mini Stock and Bluenose Pools Beginners will also take to the track Friday evening.
